The Procurement team provides procurement, commercial, logistics, and supply chain services to the Trust. The Sr Procurement manager will support the Head of Procurement in defining and implementing a procurement strategy that supports delivery of the Trust's overall strategy and objectives in line with the national NHS procurement strategy and Future Operating Model. The post holder will shape and deliver the strategy for a specific area of responsibility.

The post holder will be expected to build strong and effective relationships at a strategic level with senior stakeholders and to work collaboratively in order to deliver optimum demonstrable value from the Trust's third-party supplier spend. They will also be expected to promote the adoption of innovative products and solutions by working closely with Trust colleagues and suppliers.

Main duties of the job

The job entails establishing contracts for the Trust, in cooperation with the department leads. It is key to build strong relationships to ensure needs are defined and procurement is done in accordance with the standing financial instructions.

The post holder will need to have knowledge of frameworks and the Contract legislation valid at any time. The post holder shall guide the Trust to deliver value for money and establish a portfolio of strong contracts.

Graduate Diploma in Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or appropriate professional institute or relevant experience Evidence of Continuous professional development (CPD) Desirable

MBA or equivalent qualification or significant in-depth senior level experience

Significant Procurement Management experience e.g., Public Contract Legislation, Contract Law, Managing a procurement process, Knowledge of common practice throughout the industry, NHS conditions of contract, Use of electronic tools for Procurement Extensive demonstrable experience of effectively managing teams Accomplished at using the full range of available software packages, i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access Proven knowledge and understanding of the political environment and stakeholder management Experience in Procurement practice to drive value for money from contracts in the portfolio Desirable

NHS experience at senior management level Proven track record of performance management The ability to run large complex collaborative procurements Strategic and day to day management of team
