The opportunity The Senior Procurement Manager will represent Shieldpay to external vendors, as well as working closely with internal stakeholders. Our Senior Procurement Manager will report to our Director of Financial Operations, and together with the wider team, you will execute the company vision and strategies by establishing effective, resilient, secure procedures to take the group to the next stage of our commercial evolution. What you’ll be doing Continue to refine and enhance Shieldpay's procurement strategy to ensure alignment with Shieldpay’s overall goals and objectives. Where appropriate, conduct research and analysis to identify suitable suppliers and pricing trends. Develop and manage procurement budgets, ensuring that spending aligns with financial goals. Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on performance, price, reliability, and capacity (in line with Payment volume requirements). Lead negotiations with suppliers for favourable terms, including pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, penalties and terminations. Monitor and assess supplier performance against service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs). Partner with Legal to ensure that contracts are structured properly, legally sound, and reflect Shieldpay’s needs, specifically as it relates to Payment volume requirements. Monitor compliance with contract terms and resolve disputes or issues as they arise. Identify and mitigate risks associated with supplier contracts, such as cost increases and compliance issues. Work closely with other departments (e.g., Tech, Operations, Legal, and Sales & Marketing) to ensure procurement aligns with the needs of the business. Monitor and manage procurement expenses, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and maximizing value. For material investments, ensure that a thorough cost/benefit analysis is performed. Regularly report on procurement performance, supplier performance, cost savings, and contract compliance to senior leadership team. Drive continuous improvement in procurement activities and systems, driving innovation and efficiency. What we're looking for in you Deep understanding of procurement trends, market conditions, and regulations within the payments and financial services space. An expert in influencing stakeholders and building strong relationships with suppliers and partners. Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make informed decisions. Experience with working in a Start-up/Scale-up environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with senior leaders and external vendors. A self-starter with initiative and the ability to make things happen. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and successful delivery. Strong negotiation skills to secure favourable terms and resolve disputes effectively.
