Spider is advertising on behalf of the UK's leading specialist in Metal Injection Moulding (MIM) who are looking for a Senior Production Engineer to join their team on a full-time basis in Rendlesham, near Woodbridge, Suffolk. Fantastic company package include: Salary: On offer is a competitive salary of up to £50,000 per annum Holiday: 25 days plus Bank Holidays Hours: 35 hours per week (working a 4 or 5 day week within Monday to Friday) Company Pension Free Parking About the role: As the Senior Production Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in leading our front line Production Engineering activities. This is an exciting opportunity to take new products from the initial completion stage to full production while optimizing our existing processes. You will harness your expertise in Lean methodologies to drive efficiency, yield improvement, and waste reduction, ensuring we consistently deliver exceptional quality and value. Your responsibilities will include functional line management of the Production/Process Engineering team, overseeing production documentation, implementing change management strategies, and fostering a culture of continuous learning across shifts. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Ensuring successful task closure and objective attainment. Serve as an expert on production machinery and processes to identify opportunities for improvement. Implement effective change management strategies focusing on Lean and Six Sigma principles. Oversee the product manufacturing process from the first-off completion stage onwards. Maintain and update all production documentation, including control plans and training materials. Ensure training competence across shifts, fostering a culture of continuous learning. Initiate, develop, and maintain lean manufacturing processes, layouts, metrics, and tools to optimize production. Implement and uphold manufacturing software systems necessary for ISO9001 compliance. Lead evaluations of current manufacturing processes for opportunities for technological advancements. Participate in internal and external audits as required, ensuring compliance with quality standards. Conduct investigations into production issues, implementing corrective actions and process improvements. Collaborate on quality issues with both internal teams and external customers, ensuring high standards are met. About you: We are looking for a dynamic Senior Production Engineer with at least 3 years of proven experience in Senior Production or Production Engineering roles within a Lean Manufacturing Environment, coupled with at least an HNC in a relevant discipline. Alternatively, we would consider extensive proven experience in a related role. You should possess strong competency in reading engineering drawings and diagrams, familiarity with ISO9001:2015 standards, and preferably have experience in metal processing or injection moulding, and perhaps even an understanding of MIM technology. A proactive approach to problem-solving, effective multitasking abilities, excellent communication and people skills, and a mindset focused on continual improvement will ensure your success in this fast-paced environment.
