An established biopharmaceutical manufacturer is looking for a Senior Capital Projects Director, to join their expanding facility, on a permanent basis. This is due to the continual growth of their site.


The Project Director will be focused on the oversight and management of the building expansion project. You will be responsible for the construction interface with site operations, ensuring a smooth rollout for automation, engineering systems, project services, etc. You will communicate with a multitude of team members, from construction leads, to technical leads, to global executive teams. The role holder will be responsible for driving the execution of project deliverables, troubleshooting escalations, and ensuring all key metrics are met.


Other principal accountabilities include:


• Own the project safety culture and take proactive measures to ensure safety is of critical importance

• Manage the project through Operational Qualification (OQ) and support successful Performance Qualification (PQ) completion

• Manage the Automation, Construction, Project Services, Performance Qualification (PQ), Commissioning, Qualification and Validation team (CQV), and Start Up Teams

• Facilitate communication – presenting relevant and timely updates on project status to all stakeholders

• Manage engineering and construction partners

• Manage deadlines, remove obstacles, and drive the team to ensure timeliness are met.


Candidates will need to be an articulate communicator, with in depth knowledge and experience leading and driving a multi-million-pound GMP project (Pharmaceutical/Biotech/Biopharma). Knowledge of complex process plant equipment is essential, as this project is reaching a critical phase, getting ready for operational start up in the near future. You will need to have led a multi-million-pound pharmaceutical build into operational readiness.


A strong regard for EHS is essential to this role, as is a relevant Engineering degree (Chemical/Mechanical/Construction/Biological/Electrical) etc.
