Engineering Director Overall Purpose: The Senior Project Engineer (SPE) is responsible for creating innovative and commercially viable designs for new products. The role demands leadership in technical sales meetings, close interaction with external customers and contractors, and ensuring the successful transition of products from concept to production. Responsibilities:

Generate new business alongside the Sales and Marketing department, leading technical sales meetings. Create new product designs meeting customer standards to maximize success probability. Work directly with external customers and contractors, upholding professionalism and core values. Ensure successful product realization from concept to Start of Production (SOP). Exhibit excellent communication skills, leading project group meetings with internal and external teams. Provide training, guidance, and support to UK and Global Project Engineers. Maintain a strong customer and quality focus with cultural awareness. Undertake domestic and international travel for Sales and Engineering joint customer meetings (typically 1 week, up to 1 month maximum per period). Experience Required

Experience in designing small mechanisms, production jigs, and fixtures. Expertise in designing for manufacture, assembly, and quality with skills in failure prevention (knowledge of Ansys FEA and Moldflow desirable). Practical experience in plastic part design and plastic injection moulding, tool design, and material processing. Familiarity with both high volume and batch manufacturing in a technical plastic injection moulding environment. Financial acumen to maximize profit through product and process design. Knowledge of rolling element bearings and their application. Experience in risk assessment and management to maximize project success. Robust problem-solving and project management skills. Knowledge of ISO 9001 and TS16949 Product Realisation Process. Supervisory/Managerial Experience:

While there are no direct reports, the role requires coordinating tasks across multiple roles, acting as an effective leader, positive manager, coach, and facilitator. High level of customer contact, contributing to planning and administration of assigned projects in conjunction with the customer and project management teams. Joint project responsibility with the Sales team for assigned projects from inception to completion. Effective time management for active roles in multiple projects. Ability to communicate and manage expectations at all customer contact levels, from design teams to CEOs, with support from project and senior management teams. Demonstrate commercial awareness during live projects, aligning customer requirements with long-term company goals. Qualifications/Education:

HND or degree in an engineering discipline, preferably mechanical engineering with design. IT literate. Technical Experience:

Proficient in plastic product design using 2D and 3D CAD software (preferably SolidWorks & PDM).
