Preferably, you will be from a Defence or Engineering / Manufacturing background to join an established Bristol-based Engineering / Defence Services company, delivering complex manufacturing and critical services to Large UK Primes and the MoD directly. The Role As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for day-to-day Operational Performance oversight. You will be integral to delivering innovative Project Management solutions to support further growth opportunities pursued by the business. Key Responsibilities Deliver key project management functions in support of overall project delivery including financial, schedule, quality, and risk functions. Action tasks assigned by the Director of Project in a timely manner and assist with activities in achieving project deliverables. Communicate with stakeholders on the progress of the project and capture stakeholder requirements and needs. Create, monitor, and manage Customer demands in an ERP system to meet the contractual delivery KPI targets. Manage Post Design Services requested by the Customer within the agreed triple constraints, including reporting performance to the Customer and the Director of Projects. Develop strong relationships with key customer stakeholders and suppliers to capture, analyze, and achieve customer requirements. Create monthly project progress reports (for both internal and external stakeholders) to update schedules in line with project reporting timelines and best practices. Oversee variable aspects of the project and provide direct assistance to ensure timely project execution. Apply effective risk management throughout the project life cycle to mitigate the risk of project failure. Assist in the planning and scheduling of project activities including resource leveling and smoothing. Manage logistics issues and develop savings on transport possibilities. Create and utilize cost models to input/analyze data collected from the Procurement Team. Professional Skills / Abilities Able to establish strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business. Good understanding of Project Management. Self-motivated with a flexible approach to workload. Excellent I.T. Skills (Microsoft Excel essential). Microsoft Project skills desirable but not essential. Strong attention to detail (essential). Strong commercial skills. Basic understanding of engineering (desirable). Experience & Qualifications Educated to Degree Level Qualification (or working towards). Membership of a relevant professional body e.g., APM or PRINCE (desirable but not essential). Proven Project Management Experience in an Operational Procurement Environment in the Defence Sector (preferred). MRP Skills (IFS desirable but not essential). Full Driving Licence and willingness to travel.
