Time left to apply End Date: January 12, 2025 (14 days left to apply) Job requisition ID: JR-0000009360 Our goal as the Infrastructure Delivery team is to deliver a safe and sustainable transport system, to create great journeys across the motu and to keep New Zealand moving. We’re building a world-class transport network that delivers maximum value to New Zealand. As a Senior Project Manager in our Infrastructure Delivery team, you’ll bring 5 to 10 years’ experience in project management and be responsible for leading and supporting the delivery of a variety of capital transport projects. You will be involved in a number of projects and work programmes. The main focus of your work will be leading projects on and related to our state highway network, including improving the resilience and safety of our roads and making improvements to existing highways. Typically, these projects are up to $10m in value and involve working with multiple suppliers to complete the design and construction phases of the projects. You’ll be supported by a small team of project managers and will collaborate and engage across Waka Kotahi, Iwi, regulatory authorities, and a variety of stakeholders and development partners. This will ensure that your projects are managed effectively while delivering optimal outcomes. As an organisation, we’re a highly experienced, diverse, and multicultural team who bring a wide range of experience and expertise to project delivery. What we’re most proud of, and the real key to our success, is the team culture we have built. We support and bounce ideas off one another, share our workload to deliver quality infrastructure for our communities, provide opportunities to learn and grow, and still have fun. You’ll bring an understanding of technical design, delivery, and contract/construction experience, but what’s also important to us is how you work with people – our team, our partners, our customers, and our stakeholders. Our team is passionate, proactive, and genuinely motivated by the mahi we do for our communities and are looking for other likeminded project management professionals. You'll also demonstrate: Project management experience with proven delivery of infrastructure projects, including programme, financial, and risk management activities. An innovative, collaborative mindset and approach to project delivery. Stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate with key partners and stakeholders across public and private sectors. Knowledge of procurement processes including preparation of tender documents with clearly defined scope, objectives/outcomes, risks, and key deliverables. Some experience of tender evaluation. Ability to manage contracts with suppliers including closely monitoring performance to achieve optimal results. Maintain appropriate relationships with industry partners. An understanding of general contract conditions within the civil engineering industry. A genuine interest to build on, or develop an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. To be considered for this position you must have a legal right to live and work in New Zealand. Waka Kotahi is an equal opportunity employer (EOE). We recognise the importance of diversity and inclusion and are committed to providing a working environment that embraces these values. Please let us know if you need any support or have any access requirements that will help you through the recruitment process. Please note that we may begin shortlisting as we receive applications. We encourage early applications as we may withdraw the advertising at any time.
