Either to be based from our Edinburgh or Glasgow offices, we are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Buildings and Places business line. In this exciting opportunity you will be involved in a critical infrastructure project, which will include elements of new build construction and civils infrastructure. As the Senior Project Manager within this role, you will be required to manage and take ownership of all aspects of a given project, proactively engaging with the client, construction, and design team to drive the project forward. You will be required to prepare succinct and accurate reports that look forward and identify clear actions and recommendations. When managing a contract, you will be required to positively engage with the construction and design team and work collaboratively to address risks and avoid claims and disputes whilst maintaining meticulous records to allow you to quickly respond to issues arising and form an informed and balanced opinion having due regard to the building contract. You will also be involved in the development of less experienced team members supporting them in becoming professionally qualified. Here's what you'll do: Development and delivery of business cases Client-side project management, including stakeholder, schedule, and NEC4 contract management Provide strategic advice on project challenges to support the client achieving their goals Ownership of and responsibility for the successful delivery of your project Preparing and maintaining schedules, including dependencies and resources Identifying and monitoring project risks and opportunities Quality management processes for project activities and outputs Managing stakeholders, taking account of their levels of influence and particular interests Establishing and maintaining project governance reviews Developing and managing teams Managing suppliers Ensure commissions are managed to the right quality standards and are completed efficiently and on time Strong relationships are developed with clients and members of the cross-functional team Business development opportunities with existing and new clients, including cross-selling opportunities, are identified, and acted upon Provide leadership within project management business and provide leadership and mentoring to the team Manage the delivery of project management team outputs, in accordance with agreed timescales and quality standards Co-ordination and sign off on all management information produced If you're passionate about innovation and turning bold ideas into reality, AECOM welcomes you. Qualifications Ready to push the limits of what's possible? Here's what we're looking for: Minimum Requirements: Good working knowledge of NEC3 / NEC4 contracts or similar, and commercial awareness Collaborative management skills Excellent communication and organisational skills Specific industry and project experience Valid UK driving licence Preferred Qualifications: Professional Qualified - ideally Project Management/ Engineering /Construction /Quantity Surveying Degree Chartered Status with the ICE, RICS, CIOB, RIBA or other equivalent institution APM affiliation preferred (as secondary accreditation) NEC3 / NEC4 Accredited PM preferred Additional Information Interested in the role or curious about life at AECOM?
