Guiseley, Leeds Overview Our client, one of the fastest-growing and highest-rated commercial energy suppliers in the UK, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their team. This role will be instrumental in delivering the Market-Wide Half-Hourly Settlement programme and managing its integration within the target operating model. This includes ensuring that new and existing data services such as BSC central services, Smart DCC, and service requests are seamlessly incorporated into the Data Integration Platform. Additionally, the Project Manager will oversee DCC operations and manage the annual audit for SECAS CIO, ensuring the successful control and implementation of the MHHS programme. The successful candidate will take on responsibilities currently held by the Head of Regulation, including tasks related to the Data Communications Company (DCC), Smart Energy Code Administrator and Secretariat (SECAS), MHHS, and DCC Adapter integration (new or existing). Responsibilities Market-Wide Half-Hourly Settlement (MHHS) Project Management: Plan, manage, and deliver our client’s MHHS project, ensuring successful implementation and optimisation, working closely with third-party CRM providers and market participants. Collaborate with internal teams, external vendors, and regulatory bodies to achieve project goals. Lead stakeholder engagement, including third-party onboarding for MHHS projects. Create and maintain all project management documentation and policies. Facilitate workshops to communicate MHHS requirements for system and procedural development. Ensure the timely delivery and quality of all project artifacts, including software, processes, and work instructions. Lead the project from initiation through to completion, including reporting to external industry bodies. DCC Operations: Manage all aspects of the DCC operations, overseeing the communication infrastructure that connects smart meters, ensuring efficient data flow for billing, MHHS, and energy supply management. Manage DCC file flows, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and oversee the annual SECAS CIO audit, maintaining compliance with the latest standards. Coordinate and ensure compliance with the latest versions of the Great Britain Companion Specification (GBCS). Participate in strategic planning and consultation phases related to DCC operations. Provide expert advice on the impact of DCC updates on energy supply services. Facilitate internal and external stakeholder meetings, workshops, and forums related to DCC operations. Maintain awareness of regulatory changes and ensure compliance with Smart Energy Code (SEC) requirements. Smart CIO Audit Preparation and Facilitation: Conduct risk assessments and update treatment plans in line with CIO scope. Perform audits in line with the Security Controls Framework (SCF) and ISO standards. Review and update Information Security Management System (ISMS) documentation and approved supplier status. Prepare for and facilitate CIO audits, liaising with auditing teams and managing post-audit follow-ups. Oversee external audits by SECAS, ensuring regulatory compliance and implementing necessary actions to maintain operational integrity. The Individual Proven experience managing complex projects in the energy or utilities sector. Ability to define project scope, comprehensively plan, manage stakeholders, and deliver on time. In-depth understanding of market-wide half-hourly settlement processes and regulatory frameworks within the energy industry. Familiarity with DCC systems and adapter integration. Experience in conducting and facilitating Smart CIO audits, with exposure to SECAS CIO audits being advantageous. Strong understanding of the utilities sector, particularly in risk compliance and information security. Proven ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of identifying and resolving issues quickly. Desirable experience in environmental safety and operational management support. Knowledge of ISO27001/27005 standards and the Security Controls Framework (desirable). Experience in delivering training and familiarisation sessions related to ISMS and CIO compliance (desirable). Prince2 Practitioner or equivalent qualification is highly desirable. This is a dynamic role for a hands-on project manager looking to drive key initiatives and ensure that regulatory and operational requirements are met across a rapidly growing energy provider.
