Role overview We have an exciting opportunity for an established Senior Project Manager to work within a Teledyne Defence business based in Lincoln and Shipley. Using proprietary technology, the business develops, supplies and services Microwave RF components and sub systems within a wide range of defence and security applications. The growth of this business is dependent upon a dynamic resource base for the development of new products and technologies for mid-to-long term success. This is a key role within a team delivering high profile complex projects. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate industry standard best practice, effective deployment of project management principles, and have a track record in successful project delivery. As the Senior Project Manager you will act as a relationship manager between the various disciplines within the organisation, the customer, and a wider team across multiple sites. You will require strong leadership to bring together key milestones across multiple projects whilst factoring the same resources. Travel will be required along with the need to be present for customer meetings, sometimes outside of core hours. What you'll be involved in: Achieve a high performance in project delivery that is better than agreed budgetary and time constraints, and that attains 100% OTIF whenever possible. Accurate reporting and budget forecasting of project delivery, along with detailed revenue projections. Manage project uncertainty through risk planning, establishing appropriate risk mitigation plans and effective escalation. Maintaining good effective relationships with customers and key stakeholders to ensure all expectations and outcomes are met. Using PM best practice to deploy effective tools and create challenging detailed plans to ensure success. Be a key member of the team, championing improvements for project management. You will also be required to mentor and lead others within your immediate team. Champion NPI within the Operations teams. What we're looking for in you: Demonstrated project management experience of high value critically dependent projects. Experience of managing projects through product/system lifecycle. Practiced in managing multiple technical, engineering or science projects, and often presenting ambiguous situations. Experienced with high profile and demanding customers. A relevant professional project management qualification with at least 5 years professional experience. Knowledge of EPM tools, preferably SAP S4 and/or XA.
