Senior Project Manager – Major Projects & Connections Within travelling distance of London Permanent Competitive + Car/Car Allowance + Flexible Benefits Summary Due to winning a number of new schemes, Freedom are seeking to recruit an experienced Project Manager into the Major Projects & Connections division to deliver specific Design & Build 132kV/33kV EHV/HV Substation and 132kV cable route projects in the South of England / London area. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a single major project, or a portfolio of medium sized schemes. They will need to deliver the project work safely, competently, and effectively to time and budget, balancing all aspects of cost, programme, quality, and safety in line with expected Freedom standards. Key Deliverables: The successful candidate will be a commercially and process astute Senior Project Manager, able to proactively identify commercial, programme and engineering risks and opportunities to protect and benefit the business. It is essential that the individual has a driven attitude, is comfortable being highly proactive, and can operate with a degree of independence while managing a range of individual specialists and subcontractors across the breadth of the scheme to ensure overall success. Support from the wider team, line management, and Project Directors will be provided. Demonstrate diligence and organization with project deliverables and project management products to ensure a high level of professionalism and quality is maintained. What We’re Looking For: Proven track record in development, design and/or build of underground cable schemes at 33kV and 132kV+ is essential. Experience of 11kV cable schemes will also be considered if the candidate can demonstrate the schemes are suitably complex and in urban areas. Experience delivering cable project works in congested/urban areas is highly desirable. Demonstrable knowledge of Streetworks practices and experience in stakeholder consultation and negotiations including Highway Authorities, Transport network operators, and other Statutory Undertaker providers is preferable. Experience in Contract/Project Management of HV/EHV engineering schemes with a focus on owning and tightly managing programmes, budgets, scope change, and quality is required. Experience of EHV/HV substation project work is beneficial but not essential. Client-facing ability to successfully manage important client relationships, as well as internal teams and supply chain, is essential. Ability to work independently and proactively is absolutely essential. Ability to coordinate (with team support) designers, consultants, surveyors, construction teams/supply chain, and suppliers throughout the feasibility, design and construction stages. Experience in management of junior roles (including Project Managers) as part of project delivery. Ability to provide strong industry references is key.
