A fantastic opportunity for a Senior Quality Control Scientist has arisen at a Cambridge-based cutting-edge leading equipment development company whose innovative technology is reshaping the medical, life science, and diagnostics sectors! The Senior Quality Control Scientist will play a pivotal role in managing the availability and quality of the molecular diagnostic reagents essential for our development processes. As a Senior QC/QA Scientist, you will implement and conduct quality control assessments for incoming materials as well as ensure the smooth release of the company’s products! The QC Scientist will report directly to the Head of Reagent Development, working closely with the Head of Manufacturing & the Head of Quality. You will collaborate with the team to establish and execute quality control protocols to ensure that our products meet regulatory standards. Responsibilities: Verify that the RT-PCR reagents manufactured by the company undergo a thorough quality control assessment before being released to the development teams. Monitor and report on QC pass/fail metrics. Support the wider biology team in performing environmental monitoring in line with the requirements of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Follow all requirements of working in an ISO 13485/FDA regulated environment. Skills and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology or similar (or equivalent experience). Recent and relevant experience in Quality Control for In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) devices and/or reagents within an ISO13485/FDA regulated environment. Hands-on experience of PCR and understanding of underlying principles. Familiarity with operating under formal quality systems and practices, such as ISO13485 and FDA regulations.
