Senior Quality Engineer

for the

Assembly Tech Centre . This role is ideally suited to a professional in quality, who has experience in evaluating manufacturing and operational processes, leading initiatives to improve efficiency and compliance, and has demonstrable evidence in previous roles of bridging the gap between engineering, production, and customer by driving a culture of continuous improvement. This shift-based role will be responsible for collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and engineering, to ensure quality requirements are integrated at every stage of the product lifecycle. The right candidate will be able to leverage their technical expertise to evaluate materials, processes, and final products, requirements, and customer expectations. In addition to technical responsibilities, the Senior Quality Engineer will often take on a leadership role, mentoring junior engineers and quality personnel. They act as quality ambassadors, providing training on best practices, statistical quality control methods, and problem-solving tools. Through effective communication and analytical skills, they should be able to influence decision-making and ensure that the organisation delivers products and services that align with its vision for excellence. Ultimately, the Senior Quality Engineer is a vital driver of AWE's success, ensuring both the integrity of products and the satisfaction of stakeholders. This role demands a proactive, detail-oriented, and innovative mindset, combined with the ability to lead and inspire teams toward achieving exceptional quality standards. Who are we looking for? We do need you to have the following: Knowledge in quality management, data analysis, problem solving and performance improvement. Relevant HNC/HND or equivalent qualification and/or experience. Membership of a recognized related professional body or working towards i.e. MCQI. Training in the use of lean and six sigma techniques and/or other related problem solving and improvement tools. Whilst not to be considered a tick list, we'd like you to have experience in some of the following: Planning and delivery of Quality engineering working as part of a team, or individually, within the area they represent. Provide specialist expertise in the application and deployment of Quality tools and techniques within their represented area. Advises on the application of the Quality engineering, and its application within the workplace. Act as a subject matter expert to a technical multi-functional team to resolve problems when required by the area they represent. Provision of technical review and guidance on process development and Quality application within their specialist field. Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality and be a great team player. Capable in the use of problem solving and improvement tools and techniques (e.g. Lean Six Sigma methodologies). Lead Auditor Qualified or Experience. You'll need to have the ability to work calmly and constructively in a priority changing environment and be able to manage your own workload.
