: Quality Assurance & Control: Responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of the AS9100 quality management system (QMS). Lead and develop a robust internal audit program whilst mentoring on site internal auditors. Conduct product inspections and audits to verify compliance with customer specifications and regulatory requirements. Manage and resolve customer complaints related to product quality, working closely with the engineering and production teams. Work closely with other departments to ensure that quality control processes are effectively integrated into all stages of the manufacturing workflow. Lead 8D/root cause investigations, reporting findings to customers and internal stakeholders. Deliver training on QMS, quality control processes, tools, and techniques to manufacturing and engineering teams. Foster a culture of quality throughout the organisation by promoting quality best practices. Compliance & Reporting: Ensure adherence to all relevant industry and customer-specific quality standards, including regulatory requirements. Prepare and deliver quality performance reports to senior management, highlighting trends, challenges, and opportunities. Lead internal and external quality audits and coordinate responses to audit findings. Manage the calibration and maintenance of testing equipment to ensure accurate results. Continuous Improvement & Process Optimisation: Identify areas for process improvement and lead root cause analysis to identify quality issues. Lead and participate in corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and ensure that solutions are sustainable and effective. Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and other process optimisation methodologies. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement improvements and monitor their effectiveness. KEY REQUIREMENTS: Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Professional certifications in quality management (e.g., Six Sigma Black Belt, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, CQE) are highly desirable. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality engineering, preferably within a manufacturing environment (experience in aerospace, cable harness or electronics manufacturing is a plus). Proven track record of leading quality improvement initiatives and managing customer and supplier quality issues. Strong experience with quality management systems, process control, root cause analysis, and failure analysis. In-depth knowledge of relevant industry standards, AS9100 highly desirable, ISO9001 at a minimum. Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify trends. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders. Proficiency in quality management tools such as gap analysis, 8D, five whys. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies. Strong problem-solving abilities, with experience in root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions. Personal Attributes: Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality standards.
