Quantity Surveyor
with a background or interest in mechanical and electrical services to join our team in
Barrow-in-Furness
on a
permanent
basis. In this role you will be closely supporting the team leaders in people and client development and management alongside your day-to-day role. Your day to day could sometimes involve: Contract Administration Ensure adherence to processes and procedures for issuing works in line with contracts. Optimise value for money by facilitating improved contractor performance management. Contract advice, ensuring obligations under contract are met; Challenge and manage scope changes, highlighting any commercial impact. Monitor and validate supplier performance against contracts via KPI mechanisms Oversee application for payment in line with undertaken activities Align financial reports to the requirements of the business. Validate impact of changes to scope, ensuring compliance to contract. Advise client on contractual matters and implications of actions on contract. Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risk. Oversee validation of estimates. About You Who we’re looking for We are seeking candidates with relevant experience in Quantity Surveying; experience in the Nuclear / Civil engineering / Engineering (Including Service Contracting) sectors is desired but not essential. Experience/willing to learn about the mechanical and electrical industry in an infrastructure/defence environment. Comfortable communicating and negotiating with various levels of stakeholders Ideally be HNC, HND or Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management, Construction Law, or similar / relevant discipline, or in some cases, applicants with an alternative background (e.g., Engineering) may be considered.
