A large Civil Engineering Contractor with a £134million turnover is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work out of their Essex office overseeing projects in the home counties and London. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be working for a company that has been established for over 30 years and will require a strong senior candidate with experience of NEC. The candidate will be responsible for estimating and controlling costs, ensuring that structures meet legal and quality standards.

Preparation of internal commercial reporting and any other reports which may be required. Preparation of valuations/applications for payment with supporting documentation. Preparation of cost reports to the client with contractually compliant supporting documentation. Preparation and management of subcontract and material procurement schedules. Administration of subcontractor/supplier accounts. Agreement of final accounts. Undertake contract administration, including change management and maintain associated registers. Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering, and change. Utilise the costing system. Senior Quantity Surveyor Job Requirements
Relevant industry qualification. General civil engineering experience. Commercially astute with knowledge of standard forms of contract and standard methods of measurement. Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts and the ability to manage complex cost structures. Experience using CEMAR. Computer literate with strong skills in Microsoft Office applications. Good communication skills including presentations and ability to negotiate. Experience within the construction/engineering industry and commercial background.
