Morrison Energy Services isrecruiting for a Senior QuantitySurveyor to work on contracts through out theSouth West.
As the Senior Quantity Surveyor you will be partof our CommercialTeam whoare responsible for actively assisting the Commercial Department andproject team to maximise profit and reducerisk
As the Senior QuantitySurveyor your responsibilitieswill include:
- Compile relevant information forpreparation of reports and claims to agreedtimescales
- Assist with the ongoing implementation of the commercialapplication in respect of site personnel at all time whilstdeveloping lasting relationships with Business Unit and ProjectManagers
- Constantly refer to the project risk management plan forthorough, accurate, high-level risk assessment. Monitor theregister and any related documentation in accordance with theplan
- Ultimateresponsibility for all sub-contractor management. Ensure allsub-contractors and suppliers have submitted compliantquotations/enquiries/applications within the timescale required,and produce all documentation to select and secure services as wellas monthly assessments, variations/CE claims and final accountagreements through coaching of the QuantitySurveyor
- Actively increase knowledge of commercial issues andcontract law with a view to managing and agreeing compensationevents/variations/claims
- Actively suggest and develop processes for increasedaccuracy and efficiency minimising time journal and reconciliationtasks
- Liaison with theCommercial Manager and Quantity Surveyor(s) to ensure appropriatecommercial cover is maintained
- Assist the team and Project Manager,Engineers and Planners with regard to recovery of contract coststogether with enhancing project profit by identifying variations,delays and claims
- Assist with production of monthly project financial andforecast to complete reports for analysis with Finance staff andCommercial Staff
- Develop sound and balanced negotiatingskills
- Attend whenrequested handover and progress meetings
- Help produce a site commercial manual anddocuments to record variations
- In accordance with our certification tothe standards OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 each employeewill comply with and contribute to the effective implementation ofthe current MES :-Health and Safety Policy, Quality Policy &Environmental Policy

- Contractcosting
- Contract law (NEC3 / 4)
- Previous experience in a QuantitySurveying or Cost Clerk role
- Contract experience, capturing siterecords for variations and valuations; supporting a projectteam
- Sub ContractManagement
- Cost / value reconciliation
- Qualification in QuantitySurveying
- Full UK Driving license
- Knowledge of the industry would beideal
