The Company

Established for 50 years this company is a £50m turnover Civil Engineering Contractor, who work on projects throughout the North West, from Preston down to Stoke, with a high percentage in the Liverpool, Manchester, Warrington areas. They provide specialist groundwork packages of work covering all aspects of foundations and roads & sewers.

The Senior Quantity Surveyor Role

Focusing on groundwork related subcontract packages, predominantly for residential housing projects, you will be responsible for the commercial aspects of multiple projects, working closely with the Commercial Director and the project team.

Key accountabilities:

To maximise the commercial position of the project for whilst maintaining positive client relationships.

Protect contractual position by ensuring all obligations are discharged appropriately.

To take active responsibility for commercial procedures in conjunction with the Commercial Director

You will work alongside their production team; you will ensure the contractual control and cost management across a wide range of projects for the region.

You will have involvement from initial enquiry through to project delivery

You will be responsible for managing all commercial aspects relating to the projects, whilst achieving the highest standards ensuring the company's strong reputation is maintained.


The Successful Senior Quantity Surveyor

Experience at a similar Senior Level Quantity Surveyor role within a civil engineering / groundworks contractor.

Must be passionate about work, committed to excellence and continuous improvement both on personal and divisional level.

Must be able to build trust and confidence through open communications and informing colleagues about issues that will affect their role.

Generates new relationships easily and is committed to generating new business opportunity.
Must be organised and prioritise own work to deliver on time through managing time effectively.

Able to delegate effectively.

Must have a high level of attention to detail.

Works in a proactive and diligent manner.

Proven record of getting results and developing others.

Must be able to participate, share knowledge and actively support colleagues.

Must be able to remain calm and focussed on difficult situations.

Must be able to take full accountability for their role, actions, judgements and decisions.
