About Us: We are a highly successful painting and decorating contractor based in Essex, renowned for delivering exceptional quality and innovative solutions to our clients. Due to our continued growth and expansion, we are currently seeking a dedicated Senior Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join our dynamic team. Position Overview: As a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in our organization, ensuring the successful management and control of all financial aspects of our projects. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to liaise with clients from a construction background, pitch for new business, and price it up. You will work closely with our project management and estimating teams to provide accurate costings, manage budgets, and maximize profitability. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and submit detailed cost estimates and budgets for painting and decorating projects. Conduct thorough cost analysis to ensure competitiveness and profitability. Monitor project progress and financial performance, identifying and addressing any variances or issues. Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to negotiate and finalize contract terms and pricing, while actively pitching for new business opportunities. Evaluate and assess contract documents, identifying and mitigating potential risks. Prepare and submit interim valuations and final accounts. Assist in the procurement process, including the selection and appointment of subcontractors and suppliers. Provide regular financial reports and updates to senior management. Qualifications and Skills: Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field. Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably within the painting and decorating industry. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and cost analysis. Excellent numerical and analytical skills. Proficiency in industry-specific software and tools. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
