This is a hybrid working role with 1-2 days per week expected in the office. This presents a great opportunity for an ambitious QS or Senior QS to join a leading contractor that can offer long-term local work in a sector that is set to see extensive spend and subsequent growth over the next 5 years. The business is enjoying a period of continued growth and the Senior Quantity Surveyor will have the opportunity to progress to Managing Quantity Surveyor over the next two years.
The Role
Reporting to the Managing Quantity Surveyor, the SQS will work as part of a wider commercial team of eight. The framework is administered under NEC Conditions; you will work closely with the Project Managers, and responsibilities will include: Carrying out Value Engineering Cost Forecasting Sub-contract procurement including drafting of complex subcontract arrangements including professional services & appropriate terms of engagement Change Management Ensure appropriate Client Management is initiated and maintained. Maintain/assist in the production of the margin improvement plan on the project. Assist in work-winning duties as required, including technical writing for PQQ responses. Maximising cash flow production, WIP management & improvement plans Agreeing final accounts
Experience Required
Suitable Quantity Surveyors will be educated to BSc Quantity Surveying and be able to demonstrate a stable career history working at Quantity Surveyor or Senior QS level on civil engineering, infrastructure or utility projects in the UK. You will be well versed with NEC contracts and be looking to progress your career for the long-term with a highly respected, industry-leading main contractor.
