A leading infrastructure provider specialising in civil engineering, utilities, and construction services is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team.

This role involves working on a £80m new industrial refinery building in Hertfordshire.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor who is looking to progress into a Managing Quantity Surveyor role within the next year.

The Senior Quantity Surveyor's role The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for developing and maintaining client relationships, ensuring accurate monthly project forecasting and commercial reporting. This role requires the safe archiving and backup of all relevant commercial information to industry standards. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will manage monthly commercial and health check reporting, ensuring precise month-end CVR reporting. Additionally, the role involves managing risks and opportunities, maintaining cash-flow, mentoring team members, and ensuring all commercial activities are conducted ethically.

The Senior Quantity Surveyor Requirements

Degree or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant subject 5 years of commercial experience in the utility and construction sectors Working knowledge of contract law and commercial practices Familiarity with construction contracts and procurement documents Strong interpersonal skills with a confident, resilient approach Excellent commercial management skills with attention to detail Proficiency in presentation and negotiation Effective written and verbal communication skills Strong IT skills and commercial awareness Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines Experience in managing and monitoring risk Honest and reliable

Ideal candidates will have a strong background in civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure but flexible for those with transferable skills. Looking for a step up in responsibility and experienced in managing high value projects. Proactive and uses initiative.
