The Opportunity - Senior Quantity Surveyor : Join our client s team as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, where you will be instrumental in ensuring the financial success of projects. This role offers the chance to manage financial risks while following established commercial procedures. You will oversee the commercial aspects of significant projects, contributing to the overall success of the organisation.

Key Accountabilities - Senior Quantity Surveyor : Work closely with the Regional Director/Manager and the Commercial Manager, following their guidance while being supported by a Managing Quantity Surveyor. Ensure timely submission of all relevant data to monitor and analyse contract performance monthly and quarterly. Collaborate with Project Managers for the daily commercial administration of contracts, ensuring financial success and keeping the Managing Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager updated on all significant events. Prepare and approve accurate draft sub-contracts in partnership with the Commercial Team. Consult with contracts management to ensure all necessary notices and submissions are provided promptly. Ensure main contract payment applications include all necessary admeasure/additional cost claims, achieving timely submission of detailed claims and final accounts. Assist Project Managers in managing sub-contractor performance to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of all obligations. Oversee the regular submission of main contract payment applications and cash collection, while preparing sub-contractor payments as per specified terms. Engage in dispute avoidance and resolution, managing meetings effectively. Competency Requirements - Senior Quantity Surveyor : Strong understanding of the construction industry and its key players. Proficient in measurement and valuation, with a good grasp of standard forms of contract. Excellent negotiation skills with clients and sub-contractors, including the ability to draft sub-contracts. Familiarity with the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS). Proven ability to produce accurate monthly cost and value reports, as well as financial forecasts. A collaborative team player with knowledge of dispute procedures. Experience in conducting risk assessments and valuing them with project team members. Extensive experience on live projects and final accounts, with a successful track record in completing final accounts and procuring major works sub-contracts. Professional membership of a recognised institute (e.g., RICS) is desirable. Proficient in Microsoft Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience in the water industry is highly desirable, along with knowledge of CEMAR and COINS.
