About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team of a leading Tier 1 main contractor based in Wood Green, London. This role presents an excellent opportunity to take a key position in delivering high-value commercial refurbishment and new build projects, with a project portfolio exceeding 60 million. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project financials, cost forecasting, and working collaboratively across various teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
Responsibilities for Senior Quantity Surveyor:
Manage costs, budgets, and forecasting for commercial refurbishment and new build projects. Work closely with the Commercial Director, Chief Surveyor, and other senior team members to ensure financial and contractual targets are achieved. Lead procurement, subcontractor management, and project variations to ensure cost efficiency and optimal performance. Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to junior staff, including trainees and apprentices, fostering development and team collaboration. Utilise advanced financial reporting tools to track and report on project costs accurately and efficiently. Operate in a hybrid working environment, combining office-based, site visits, and remote working, with one day working from home each week. Play an active role in the successful execution and delivery of complex commercial projects.
Requirements for Senior Quantity Surveyor:
Proven experience working with Tier 1 main contractors, with expertise in managing large-scale commercial developments. In-depth knowledge of commercial refurbishment and new build projects. Strong financial management skills, with the ability to control costs, budgets, and forecasting effectively. Proficiency in financial reporting systems, with experience using advanced project tracking tools. A team-oriented individual with excellent communication and mentoring abilities. Highly organised, adaptable, and capable of working within fast-paced, multi-disciplinary project environments.
