If so, this could be the role for you. My client is a leading MEP contractor and due to expansion is looking for a new Senior M and E QS to join their team. You will be required to provide regular contractual and financial information to monitor the achievement of project objectives, assist with the vetting of sub-contract documents prior to execution, and generally maximize the financial return in respect of each project. The role would require 3 days on site in Exeter with the remaining 2 days either in the office or from home. The Role:
Vetting and negotiating in connection with the proposed sub-contract documentation to achieve the best deal for the company. Production and submission of cash flow forecasts. Assist the project contract engineer(s) in the preparation of the sub-sub-contractor enquiry document, collate and prepare sub-sub-contract documents and agree with sub-sub-contractors. Provide advice on suppliers/sub-sub-contractors quotations. Produce monthly reports to agreed deadlines. Obtain written agreement on suppliers/sub-sub-contractors final accounts, in conjunction with the project contracts engineer. Preparation of final accounts. Analysis of the sub-contract tender to prepare format for valuation applications. Co-ordinate fully with all other departments. Monitor performance against project cost/value and make recommendations. Assist in the monitoring of project progress relative to agreed sub-contract programme and if necessary issue appropriate ‘formal’ notices. Preparation of contractual claims under the main contract and domestic sub-sub-contracts. Attend project support meetings as and when required. The Requirements:
At least 5 years experience of working as a Surveyor or Senior Surveyor ideally with a MEP company, however, surveyors who have experience within a construction setting with experience of M and E packages are also desirable. Proficient knowledge of measurement and valuation. Good knowledge of standard forms of contract. Ability to negotiate with clients/sub-contractors and draft sub-contracts. Knowledge of CIS. Ability to produce accurate monthly cost and value reports and outturn financial forecasts. Ability to work in a team environment. For more information on this role please email
