£80K to £85K per annum Summary: As a Senior Quantity Surveyor for our Client, you will oversee and manage the quantity surveying team. Your primary responsibilities will include ensuring effective cost management, accurate measurement of quantities, and timely procurement of materials. You will also work closely with various stakeholders to improve project performance and financial outcomes. Key Responsibilities:

Team Management:

Lead, guide, and supervise the quantity surveying team. Allocate tasks and ensure workloads are distributed efficiently. Provide mentorship, training, and support to junior quantity surveyors.

Cost Management:

Oversee the preparation and evaluation of project cost estimates. Review and analyse tender documentation, identifying potential cost risks and opportunities. Implement strategies to optimise project costs without compromising quality or safety.

Quantity Measurement and Estimation:

Supervise the measurement of quantities for drylining works on projects. Validate and approve quantity surveying calculations and estimates. Ensure accurate and consistent measurement practices are followed.

Procurement and Contract Management:

Collaborate with the procurement team to source materials and subcontractors at competitive rates. Review and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors. Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions. Actively seek and secure new work through competitive pricing strategies.

Project Reporting:

Generate regular progress reports on project costs, variations, and financial status. Keep stakeholders informed about cost forecasts and potential deviations. Advise the senior management team on financial risks and opportunities.

Change Management:

Assess and process variations and change orders promptly. Work closely with the project management team to implement change effectively.

Cost Control:

Implement robust cost control measures to ensure projects remain within budget. Monitor and manage project cash flows and financial performance. Prepare and submit payment applications. Compile and submit Final Accounts.

Dispute Resolution:

Assist in resolving commercial disputes that may arise during projects. Work collaboratively with legal teams where necessary.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent proven experience. Extensive experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry, particularly in the drylining sector. Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and cost control. Previous experience managing and leading a team of quantity surveyors. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient in industry-standard quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office applications. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with various stakeholders. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
