Full-time Join our client who are a leading SME in the design, engineering, and installation of mechanical systems across various sectors. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for overseeing all commercial activities across the group, ensuring the financial health and smooth operations of their projects. Day-to-day of the role: Prepare applications and invoices for various projects. Prepare and value variations, early warning notices, and compensation events. Review contracts at both tender and order stages to ensure compliance and profitability. Provide commercial reviews of ongoing contracts, report to the commercial director, including cash flow forecasting and project budgeting against costs. Prepare, negotiate, and agree on final accounts with clients. Monitor contracts against programme and issue delay notices/claims as appropriate. Attend client commercial meetings to discuss and resolve financial issues. Oversight of the JCT and NEC forms of contract. Visit sites to monitor progress of works and assist project managers in ensuring projects are completed as per the contractual terms. Required Skills & Qualifications: Strong knowledge of the construction industry, ideally with a mechanical bias. Clear understanding of NEC and (ideally) JCT forms of contracts. Excellent financial and numeracy management skills. Proficient in negotiation and communication. Ability to absorb complex information and assess requirements readily. High level of computer literacy, especially with MS Office suite. A real "go-getter" - someone who wants to progress to Commercial Director and effect change!
