Kier Construction have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our successful Manchester commercial team. The Senior Q.S will enjoy the opportunity to be involved in a range of high value projects at all stages from tender, through PCSA and Delivery phase. Our projects cover a diverse range of D&B schemes within education, healthcare, commercial, higher education, heritage, aviation and custodial and can be valued anywhere from £15M - £150M Location: Manchester Contract: Full Time, Permanent What will you be responsible for? As Senior Quantity Surveyor you will take a key role in ensuring the financial success of projects, you will be able to add value throughout the full lifecycle in a commercial lead capacity or as part of a wider team as required. Your day to day will include, but not be limited to: Advising on financial feasibility of projects at early stages Organising the division of projects into component work packages for procurement. Assessing returns from sub-contractors and awarding work packages. Negotiating with sub-contractor supply chain to achieve best value. Managing applications for payment from sub contractors Preparation of applications for payment to clients. Ensuring all additions and variations are costed and logged in line with the contract conditions. Monitoring and measuring actual expenditure against budgeted project expenditure in the form of CVR (Cost Value Reconciliation Reports) Preparation of final accounts What are we looking for? This role of Senior Quantity Surveyor is great for you if you can: Demonstrate experience working on 2 stage D&B bids (desired) Strong Knowledge of NEC and JCT contract conditions. Prior experience of working within Main Contracting organisations delivering construction build projects Demonstrable track record of delivering high value projects – from £20M up to £100M in value. Confidence in dealing with client reps, sub contractors and internal stakeholders Ability to mentor and oversee more junior commercial staff.
