Senior Quantity Surveyor

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join one of the UK's largest contractors working on an embankment scheme. This role is part of a large package within the Somerset area. The business is a leader in the civil engineering and infrastructure sector.
This role will be working as part of the regional civils team on a scheme that will last over several years, with a strong order book within the region. The position involves working on major structures and technical elements.
Role Purpose:
Our client is looking for candidates with experience in managing all commercial aspects of the scheme.
Duties:
Measure, record & value work unsupervised in accordance with appropriate rules and procedures. Measure & interpret specifications & drawings. Translate measurement from drawings and specifications and prepare Bills of Quantities and Schedules of rates if required. Review weekly, monthly, section programmes of works. Plan commercial activities to meet monthly timescales. Collate Cost and Value Information. Prepare Cost reconciliation statements. Submit and agree Adjustment Events with the Client. Collect information required to specify procurement requirements. Understand the steps/documentation required. Assist Procurement function where required. Manage Sub Contractors Accounts. Experience: • BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience. • Experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a main contractor in civil engineering.
