This is a senior consultant role, which will report directly into the Director(s) of the business. The expectation for this role is that the successful candidate should be willing and able to manage the majority of each client’s day-to-day requirements with regards to contract administration, claims and adjudication work. On larger, more complex dispute proceedings you will often be expected to work as part of a larger team of staff carrying out a variety of tasks, often centred around quantum analysis and report writing whilst supporting an expert. You will on occasions have junior staff to manage and mentor as part of your role. Desired Skills and Experience
A successful career working as a Quantity Surveyor, Commercial Manager or similar, for reputable employers, quite possibly a top 10 UK building or civil engineering contractor or large subcontractor either in London, across the UK or more locally to the Darlington, County Durham area. Familiar with formal dispute proceedings. In particular, full exposure to the adjudication process from start to finish. Experience in arbitration / litigation proceedings could be a suitable alternative. Good knowledge of common contracts such as NEC and JCT. Strong report writing skills are essential and candidates who can demonstrate prior report writing evidence will be looked upon very positively. Qualifications/Educational Requirements
Completed or working towards an MSc in Construction Law or similar qualification is highly desirable. A Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a similar relevant subject is desired. MRICS is desirable. Employing Company Overview and Profile
