The MidYorkshire NHS teaching trust (MYTT) is seeking experienced CT Radiographers with previous NHS experience to join us as we work on expanding our CT service. We are a 4-site trust encompassing 6 CT scanners with a 7th due in autumn 2025. We are a forward-thinking department and offer a diverse and dynamic workload, including cardiac CT, CT colonography, CT perfusion, and Interventional oncology, as well as opportunities for research and audit. The successful applicant will be an experienced Radiographer who is HCPC registered and holds either a BSc in Radiography. They will be capable of working both independently and collaboratively, demonstrate strong communication skills, and will strive to deliver a high standard of care. MYTT has excellent travel links to Leeds, Sheffield, Doncaster, and Bradford. We are close to both the M1 and the M62. Main duties of the job Work as a member of the CT team responsible for producing high-quality CT images within the Radiology Service. Perform a comprehensive range of CT procedures across our 4 sites. Contribute to the out-of-hours service including nights, weekends, and on-calls. Contribute towards the efficient deployment of resources enabling the patient to receive a safe, accurate, and timely examination. Assist in coordinating workflow demands within the CT departments across the trust. Contribute towards finding solutions which will meet the rapidly changing demands on the radiology service. Contribute to training/tutorial opportunities within the CT Department. Support the supervision and clinical training of undergraduate radiography students and other trainees. Job responsibilities Ensure imaging procedures are carried out in accordance with mandatory departmental systems of work and protocols. Adapt technique to the condition of the patient and level of cooperation, consistent with a good diagnostic outcome/optimum image quality. Assess each patient and request to produce the correct course of action for examination and diagnosis. Actively develop high standards of patient care ensuring Trust policies and protocols are widely communicated and implemented. Play an active role in the implementation and development of quality assurance programmes including departmental audit. Undertake additional areas of responsibility as delegated by the Team Leader. Person Specification Skills and Abilities Essential Evidence of a high standard of radiography for others to follow. Ability to work accurately under pressure. Evidence of supervisory skills. Evidence of leadership and organizational skills. Ability to receive and communicate information verbally and in writing. Basic computer literacy. Familiarity with computer use for Radiology. Desirable Information Systems. Familiarity with PACS. Access to a vehicle with the ability to travel independently in line with requirements. Qualifications Essential BSc Radiography. HCPC Registered. Desirable Evidence of postgraduate study. In particular CT PG cert. Knowledge and Awareness Essential Awareness of the changing demands on the radiology service. Knowledge of the Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations 2000 and Ionising Radiation Regulations 1999. Evidence of keeping informed of current techniques and practices. Knowledge of Health and Safety at Work, COSHH, and Manual Handling. Desirable Knowledge of, or interest in, QA. Knowledge of, or interest in, teaching. Knowledge of appraisal/staff development programmes. Experience Essential Evidence of participating in out-of-hours radiography service. Experience of IV cannulation. Evidence of good CT experience. Significant CT experience within the NHS. Desirable Must have previous CT experience. Evidence of experience over and above Radiographer level work beneficial to the department such as audit, coordinating workload and resources. Evidence of delivering the clinical education of student radiographers, possibly including clinical supervisor/assessor roles. Ability to work out of hours. 30-minute on-call response time. Flexible according to the demands of the service. Desirable Adaptable to a changing environment.
