About the role Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS) is looking to appoint a highly motivated, confident, and enthusiastic professional to support the widening participation (WP), outreach, and recruitment work for the school.
This new and exciting role will work as part of the BSMS Admissions team, to provide up-to-date and accurate information, and subject matter knowledge, advice, and guidance to prospective medical students, parents/carers, teachers, and careers advisors.
The successful candidate will lead on a number of key elements to BSMS recruitment and outreach activity and assist the team with other areas of day-to-day business. This role will require the successful candidate to work at least 12 Saturdays a year, plus evenings and occasional overnight stays away from home.
About you Applicants will have experience of widening participation into higher education and demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to motivate and inspire young people. They should have a high level of personal responsibility, initiative, and attention to detail. The post holder will be highly organized, adaptable, and flexible, with excellent interpersonal skills.
The successful candidate will be a team player, with excellent IT skills, and have a supportive approach to students, being able to communicate information in an understandable way, both orally and in writing. They will have the ability to work with minimal supervision.
