We’re searching for a dedicated Senior Reliability Engineer to provide expert reliability engineering and drive the implementation of our Asset Management Strategy on all plants across the Hillhouse site, as well as providing support to our other UK plants. Role Purpose:

As the Senior Reliability Engineer, you’ll be at the helm of developing and implementing systems and procedures that enhance safety, asset availability, and quality. Your mission? To lead improvements in asset reliability, coach engineering teams, and drive strategic initiatives that align with world-class standards. Key Responsibilities:

Safety Leadership:

Promote and uphold high safety standards in all reliability engineering activities. Asset Performance Evaluation:

Research and evaluate performance and reliability losses of existing plant assets, leading efforts to enhance asset availability and achieve world-class Overall Equipment Effectiveness targets. Reliability Engineering Support:

Provide expert reliability engineering support and coaching to core engineering and maintenance teams. Data Analysis and Best Practices:

Analyse operational data to recommend best practices, propose methods to reduce lost production, identify performance improvement opportunities, and deliver robust, cost-effective solutions. System and Procedure Development:

Develop systems, procedures, and methodologies to boost asset availability and reliability. Root Cause Analysis:

Lead root cause analysis of major component failures, implementing changes to prevent recurrence. Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA):

Conduct FMEA on existing assets, identifying weaknesses and opportunities to eliminate potential failures. Reliability Strategy Development:

Develop equipment reliability strategies based on FMEA output, bad actor analysis, asset criticality review, and equipment failure data, including defining spare parts strategy. Project Involvement:

Participate in the design and installation stages of new projects, ensuring new assets integrate seamlessly into the existing Asset Management Strategy. External Collaboration:

Work with suppliers, contractors, and equipment manufacturers to identify innovative solutions for existing asset failures and define new equipment specifications. Customer Focus:

Define and meet short-term and long-term objectives, taking personal accountability for delivering on agreed targets. Cost Reduction and Plant Availability:

Lead targeted initiatives to reduce manufacturing costs by minimising equipment failures and improving plant availability. Mentorship and Development:

Support the development and mentoring of others in equipment reliability processes and techniques. Experience and Skills:

Reliability Engineering: Proven track record of delivering reliability improvements using tools like FMEA and Reliability Centered Maintenance. Experience in leading complex root cause analysis and risk mitigation techniques. Strong engineering background with expertise in discipline standards and hazard reviews. Excellent technical authoring skills for data-driven decisions and KPI visualization. Leadership: Extensive experience in developing and implementing reliability programs and training teams. Proven leadership and mentoring skills. Strategic Planning: Ability to develop and achieve long-term strategic plans for asset reliability and maintenance. Innovative Problem-Solving: Track record of implementing innovative solutions and leveraging new technologies to enhance reliability. Advanced Analytical and Data Interpretation: Expertise in using advanced analytical tools and software for predictive maintenance. Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to build strong relationships and influence senior management. Financial Acumen: Deep understanding of maintenance-related financial metrics, budget management, and cost-benefit analyses. Continuous Improvement: Experience in delivering minor projects and system upgrades with a continuous improvement mindset. Regulatory and Compliance: Extensive knowledge of industry regulations and standards, ensuring compliance and safety improvements. Project Management: Experience managing large-scale projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, and handling significant budgets. Management of Change: Experience leading cultural change initiatives and fostering continuous improvement. Crisis Management and Resilience: Proven ability to manage reliability during critical incidents and develop resilience strategies. Functional Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project) and statistical software (Minitab/JMP). Qualifications and Professional Memberships:

You must be qualified to degree level in reliability, asset management, or a relevant engineering discipline. It is desirable to be a member of a relevant professional institution. Working towards or achieving Chartered Engineer status is desirable. A Lean Six Sigma qualification is considered advantageous. Being a Certified Greenbelt is desirable.
