Key Responsibilities: Lead projects and collaborate with colleagues to build pharmacology data on new drug formats (e.g., TCRm, multi-specifics) and effectors (including immune checkpoint- / cytokine-enhanced drugs). Establish in vitro assays for immunophenotyping drug MOA and response/resistance relationships. Establish drug libraries and screening workflows for investigating drug combinations and their effects on target/disease biology. Identify and test novel strategies to block/reprogramme immune or stromal cell subsets that generate suppressive TMEs. Generate patient stratified in vitro models of disease that accurately model drug target biology. Other Responsibilities: Collaborate with colleagues to build a deep knowledge around drug targets and cancer indications of strategic interest to Immunocore. Contribute to internal project/programme team meetings and help inform go/no-go decisions. Establish and support collaborations with internal and external partners to accelerate oncology research. Keep up to date with scientific literature and contribute to peer-reviewed publications and patents. Provide technical training and mentorship to support team members. Experience & Knowledge: Essential: Deep understanding of immunology and cancer cell biology. Significant prior pharmacology experience with therapeutic molecules. Extensive experience with a broad range of immunoassay techniques. Experience in generating in vitro models of cancer. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Desirable: High throughput screening. 3D in vitro modelling experience. Experience with omics technologies. Bioinformatic expertise. In vivo pharmacology experience. Education & Qualifications: PhD or equivalent in relevant disciplines. 5+ years’ experience of post-doctoral research. MSc or BSc with role-specific equivalent experience.
