Average 38 hours per week (typically 24-hour shift pattern with sleep-ins)

Senior Residential Support Workers

Senior Residential Support Worker Responsibilities:

Provide Outstanding Care:

Help create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children, ensuring their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.

Daily Support:

Assist with everyday routines, from school runs to meal preparation, helping children to build essential life skills and confidence.

Build Relationships:

Foster strong, positive relationships with the children in your care, creating a homely and supportive atmosphere.

Promote Positive Behaviors:

Use therapeutic and nurturing approaches to manage challenging behaviors, helping children develop resilience and coping mechanisms.

Safeguarding:

Follow all safeguarding procedures to ensure the safety and welfare of the children is always the top priority.

Engagement in Activities:

Support the children in educational, recreational, and leisure activities, encouraging their development and integration into the community.

Leadership & Mentoring:

Provide guidance and support to junior staff, acting as a role model and leading by example.

Key Worker Role:

Take the lead in developing and overseeing individualized care plans for the children, coordinating with external agencies, families, and professionals.

Risk Management:

Identify and manage risks within the home, implementing effective strategies to promote safety and well-being.

Shift Leadership:

Take charge of the home during shifts, ensuring smooth operations and high-quality care delivery at all times.

What We’re Looking For:

At least 2 years of experience working with children in a residential care setting.

A genuine desire to help children build better futures, with a nurturing, caring, and empathetic approach.

Flexibility to work 24-hour shifts, including sleep-ins.

Previous experience in a leadership or key worker role is desirable.

Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and therapeutic care.

NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Children and Young People's Workforce, with the willingness to work towards higher qualifications.

Full clean UK Driving licence.

Working Hours & Sleep-In Details:

Our shift pattern is typically

24 hours on

(7:00 AM - 10:30 PM) followed by a sleep-in from

10:30 PM to 7:00 AM . You’ll then finish your shift by

7:30 AM , and enjoy 2 days off.

You’ll average

10 sleep-ins per month
