An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for an experienced Respiratory Care Physiotherapist to join our multi-disciplinary Respiratory Care Team across North West Surrey.
This is a fixed term opportunity with potential to extend. To succeed in this post you will need experience of managing patients with chronic respiratory disease as a Band 7 or Band 6 Physiotherapist in a health setting. You will have experience of working autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team.
The successful candidate must have good communication and organisational skills with a flexible approach to meet the ever-changing needs of the service.
Physiotherapists are an integral part of this multi-disciplinary team. We support unplanned admission avoidance where appropriate, provide post discharge support, community clinics, home visits and are involved in Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Ambulatory Oxygen prescription, a home Non-Invasive ventilation service, research and other innovative schemes.
The team strives to ensure evidence-based practice and to provide an effective high-quality service by setting standards and ensuring they are monitored and maintained.

The role of the Respiratory Physiotherapist is to undertake a significant specialist clinical case load, taking a leading role in the advanced assessment, clinical diagnosis and treatment of patients with long-term conditions. These patients may have complex presentations. To advise other disciplines both internally and externally to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to care. Experience of working at band 6 level in rehabilitation of patients with long term conditions. Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team and contributing to team decisions. Experience and understanding of treatment approaches. Experience of use of audit and its use to improve interventions/service. Experience of managing own and team caseload and prioritising. Experience of delegating to junior staff. Experience of teaching physiotherapists, therapy assistants and other members of the team. Experience of assessing clinical ability of staff and support personal development. Involvement in appraisal system. Demonstrate knowledge of clinical governance agenda. Current UK driving licence and use of car. Experience
Ability to carry out highly advanced range of assessments and procedures in order to make a clinical diagnosis, treatment and management plan. Use and understanding of a range of treatment approaches. Evidence of highly specialised skills for clinical practice based on evidence.
