Brown’s Natural Pet Store is a specialist pet destination, with retail stores in Goring and Ferring and a warehouse in Goring. We are a company inspired by all things natural, offering a healthy and holistic approach to a pet's well-being. Our business was founded in 2008, and over the last 16 years has grown to become one of the South Coast's most popular pet stores. In 2018 we re-branded and opened our flagship store in Ferring, winning Retailer of the Year at the Worthing and Adur Business Awards to finish off an amazing first 6 months. We are a family-run independent business and currently have a 15-person team across the business. At Brown’s, we put customer care and pet welfare above everything, and for this reason, we are searching for an individual that can demonstrate empathetic communication skills and a positive work ethic. Our current close-knit, friendly team comes from a wide range of backgrounds. However, for this role, we are looking for someone with a strongly proven retail background in the pet industry only. A candidate with pet industry experience is non-negotiable for this role. Brown’s is a rapidly growing business, so the right candidate will have the opportunity to progress quickly within the team. We would require candidates to be available on a full-time basis of 40 hours per week. Primarily, we need dynamic and professional people that want to work in our store environments, giving outstanding advice and guidance to our pet parents, both in person, over the phone, and via email. We pride ourselves on our extensive knowledge, and there is an in-depth training programme to support all new starters. You should be professional, proactive, calm, willing to listen, learn, and be business-minded with an enthusiastic and fun-loving nature. As well as the usual retail daily tasks, you will have the opportunity to get involved in events such as puppy parties and charity initiatives. Above all, we are seeking someone that can help us continue our exemplary customer care reputation and help us develop new and lasting relationships, as we treat all our customers and their pets as part of the family. In return for your hard work and dedication, you will be rewarded with numerous training and development opportunities, a generous staff discount, pension, and the chance to have a real impact on how we develop our business over both the short and long term. Willingness to work weekends is essential as with any retail business. Applicants must be diligent, show excellent attention to detail, have exceptional customer service skills, and be physically fit, as this part of the role will require a fair amount of heavy lifting. If you think you would be a fit for our team, then we would love to hear from you! It is essential that you include a covering letter to introduce yourself and state why you would love to work for us. PLEASE NOTE:

Applications without personalised cover letters will NOT be considered. We are looking to hire immediately, so do not delay your application as we are interviewing now.
