Vet and accept imaging requests and advise medical officers of the appropriateness of requests. Undertake intravenous injection of contrast media by hand or by high pressure injector (over 16 years old) in line with the injection policy. Undertake equipment quality assurance in line with QA programme and take appropriate action. Interpret images sufficiently to discuss with a Consultant Radiologist further sequences within agreed protocols. In absence of Radiologist use experience and judgement of previous cases to take further images to demonstrate an area of abnormality. Monitor and clinically assess student radiographers. Degree or equivalent in Radiography. Evidence of CPD and attendance at relevant short courses. HPC Registration. Post Graduate Certificate. EXPERIENCE
Strong experience in radiography including out of hours work. Experience of Quality Assurance or up-to-date knowledge of Health & Safety and Risk Assessment issues. Supervision and training of junior colleagues. Experience working in the NHS. 2-3 years experience in radiography including out of hours work. Plus experience with Fluoroscopy procedures.
