Evotec Alderley Park provides bespoke discovery and development services for new therapies to treat and prevent serious and life-threatening infections arising from bacteria, fungi and viruses. Main Scope of Role As a Sample Management Technician in the Sample Management department, you will be responsible for the storage and timely provision of research samples to Cyprotex and Evotec projects. You will be primarily lab-based working collaboratively with our global Sample Management team and screening colleagues. You will deliver to agreed service levels with a strong customer focus, while contributing to the continuous improvement of our industry-leading capability. Key Responsibilities Scientific Working as part of a team to deliver research samples in the requested format and to agreed timelines utilising both manual and automated processes. Managing customer orders using specialized informatics systems and responding to queries via email or telephone. Ensuring that all errors and erroneous results are reported to your supervisor with minimal delay. Interacting with other EVOTEC Sample Management groups and Project Managers/Team Leaders to process global orders. Maintaining awareness of advances in Sample Management. Ensuring all laboratory equipment and work areas are clean and in proper working order on completion of assigned tasks. Monitoring and maintaining stock consumables, communicating with internal buyers and external suppliers. Ensuring accurate and complete documentation of all activities as required by relevant SOPs and Quality policies. People Assisting on the supervision and mentoring of trainees and other support staff when required. Treating all colleagues with dignity and respect. Business Participating in initiatives to improve group processes and make efficiency gains in Sample Management processes. Ensuring work is performed to an exceptionally high standard, within specified time frames, ensuring safety regulations and QC procedures are strictly adhered to. Self Ensuring appropriate Health and Safety procedures are always followed in the workplace. Participating in all training required to perform effectively in job role. Ensuring that your personal training record is up to date and that any gaps are discussed with your supervisor. Completing timesheets on time and in accordance with guidance from Finance. Actively participating in Evotalks and agreeing on personal targets and expectations with supervisor. Any other task that may reasonably be requested by your supervisor. Contributions 5% for employees (salary sacrifice) and 5% for the employer. 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and additional length of service days awarded on the anniversary, up to a maximum of 30 days.
