The Senior Scientist, Drug Product role involves supporting formulation development projects, refining and verifying formulation processes, providing guidance on oral solid dosage forms, and working collaboratively with colleagues in Formulation Development and Analytical Chemistry.

Requirements: PhD in Analytical Chemistry or related scientific discipline or a BSc/MSc and several years' relevant experience in an Analytical Chemistry laboratory. Significant expertise in troubleshooting and developing HPLC and Dissolution methods. In-depth, hands-on expertise and up-to-date knowledge of other analytical methodologies. Experience of working to GLP or GMP. Familiar with ICH guidelines. Strong scientific track record. Attention to detail. Conscientious. Well organised and follows up on actions. Competent in the use of Microsoft Office. You will have a background in Analytical Chemistry combined with a solid expertise in HPLC, Dissolution, KF, Disintegration, stability analysis and drug product development. Knowledge of GC, SFC, MS and other analytical methodologies utilized to characterize APIs would be an advantage. The role is to support formulation development projects, develop and validate analytical methods, provide expert advice in the characterization of oral solid dosage forms and collaborates effectively with Formulation Development and Materials Characterization colleagues.

Pharmaron acquired the Hoddesdon campus, consisting of several purpose built scientific and administrative buildings together with a purpose built conference area in February 2017. The research building has more than 5,000m2 of premier R&D space and houses an established Process Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry and Drug Discovery teams. In addition, a Formulation Development team was also recently established. The Hoddesdon site has state-of-the-art Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standard facilities for the development of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API), Formulation Development (FD) and Process Chemistry (PC).
