Opportunity We are looking for a Senior Scientist to join our multidisciplinary and dynamic team. This position represents an excellent opportunity for someone looking to contribute to the translation of an early-stage oncolytic virus product through clinical development. The successful applicant will be working in a fast-paced environment and contribute to strategic research and development goals. The candidate must be a proactive, organised individual and possess a range of technical expertise and knowledge in cancer biology, immunology, and in vivo techniques. We are looking for someone who is a self-starter, has excellent communication skills, can interact with a diverse group of scientific disciplines, and is happy to jump in when required in what is an exciting work environment. Responsibilities Design, manage, and perform studies to support candidate development and inform clinical strategy, including in vivo studies; Responsible for study plan design and approval, as well as overseeing data collection, analysis, and reporting. Responsible for drawing the final overall conclusions from the study; Design and execution of cutting-edge R&D projects; Act as an independent scientist reviewer and sign off lab books, verify the calculations, and approve technical SOPs; Perform patient sample biomarker analysis under GCLP; Prioritisation of workloads and coordination of scientific work streams and processes; Collation and presentation of research findings at internal meetings; Contribution to a range of key strategic documents including:

reports and presentations, patent applications, and regulatory filings. We’re looking for someone that has: PhD degree or equivalent experience in a relevant scientific discipline with strong experience in cancer biology; A significant level of hands-on experience in performing in vivo experiments in oncology models for drug discovery, preferably humanised immune mouse models; Experience performing i.t. / i.v / i.p injections and establishing tumour models; Cell culture experience; Knowledge of cancer biology and the tumour microenvironment; Technical experience on qPCR, RNA/DNA extractions, ELISA, and cell-based assays; Ability to work independently in an organised and methodical fashion; Builds networks with other teams and external specialists; Strong team player who enjoys working in a highly collaborative environment, and is adaptable to evolving business needs; Evidence of impactful research experience through publications, patents, and/or presentations at national/international conferences; Strong IT skills (including proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and comfort using shared drives. It would be useful if you have: Active animal licence from the Home Office; Experience of in vivo imaging (e.g. bioluminescence); Experience of IHC / IF / flow cytometry / Prime Flow / RNAscope / spatial transcriptomics / single-cell sequencing; Experience of tissue dissociation, DNA extraction, QPCR; Experience in handling and processing primary tissue samples; Experience working with oncolytic viruses and/or adenoviruses; High motivation for, and commitment to, research on anticancer therapies and drug discovery; Initiative, and a willingness and propensity to take on responsibility; A collaborative attitude with a flair for problem-solving.
