Competitive What you’ll be doing: Serve as the Principal advisor and Cryptographic custodian, ensuring the safe custody and handling of cryptographic materials. Carry out and coordinate security tasks and services based on relevant policies, standards, procedures. Monitor the adequacy of the security measures within their business area to ensure that policies and procedures are up-to-date and take account of developments. Observe the performance of allocated staff to ensure work is carried out effectively and coordinate the readiness of their team’s response to security incidents. Conduct and review security assessments and define operational requirements for the assigned workstreams to protect critical assets. Provide security advice and guidance to stakeholders and make recommendations to improve security solutions for the workstream. Maintain effective relationships and coordination with key local functions and business representatives. Support the security culture by raising security awareness among employees and management in the local area and modelling behaviours that demonstrate BAE Systems values. Your skills and experiences: Essential: Ability to go through and obtain DV Clearance. Good knowledge of relevant security services, e.g. personnel security, information security, cyber and IT security, cryptographic management, asset protection, etc. Good knowledge of security functions at a local level. Good understanding of government and industry standard standards and best practice guidance. Strong knowledge of cryptographic asset management. Desirable: Experience in a security role, ideally within CNI, Defence or a similar regulated environment. The Classified & Cryptographic Material team: The Senior Security Advisor works within the Classified and Cryptographic Material team, which is responsible for through life control of Classified and Cryptographic Materials, and delivering security measures that protect BAE Systems, its people, infrastructure, information and assets, as well as the interests of its shareholders and customers, and to fulfill regulatory and legal obligations.
