senior security architect , you will play an integral part in defining and assessing Severn Trent’s security strategy, architecture, and practices. We’ll look for you to lead a team of security architects and partner with business and technical teams, with the prime function to effectively translate business objectives and risk management strategies into solutions enabled by technologies and processes. In this newly created role, you will report directly to the Enterprise Security Architect (ESA) and will be required to deputize at stated times. This is a diverse and challenging role and will require you to have substantial people, stakeholder, and technical skills, as well as the ability to work under considerable pressure in a fast-paced, regulated environment. Key Accountabilities: Develop and maintain security solutions that enable the enterprise to develop and implement effective security services and capabilities that are clearly aligned with business, technology, and threat drivers. Develop and maintain security architecture and secure-by-design artifacts and standards that can be used to leverage security capabilities in projects and operations. Serve as the primary liaison between the enterprise security architect and the security architects, coordinating with system owners, project managers, delivery teams, and wider business stakeholders on the planning and management of security architecture engagements and deliverables. WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE We’re looking for you to have strong strategic planning and communication skills to develop practical security solutions, evaluate the financial costs of recommended technologies, and translate complex security-related matters into business terms that are readily understood by colleagues. Experience in using architecture methodologies such as SABSA, Zachman, and/or TOGAF is essential. We’d also like you to have experience in information security management systems and ideally a working knowledge of the methodologies to conduct risk assessments and threat-modeling exercises on applications and services. Experience in securing the deployment of applications and infrastructure into cloud services and experience in designing IAM technologies would be massively beneficial.
