Role Purpose The Service Desk Manager manages the Service Desk function, Tech Bar, CAB and Transition process, within the PIC IT department. The Service Desk Team contributes to the overall success of the business by providing end user support and assistance. This role ensures the readiness for taking on new services is met, ensuring changes into production are safe. Ensures the CMDB fulfills the service desk needs. The role holder will ensure the provision of professional and high-quality support, with excellent service provision, leading to consistently high levels of customer satisfaction. Knowledge, Skills and Experience: Knowledge: Good technical knowledge of MS and SCCM. Established knowledge of ITIL framework. Strong knowledge on Incident Management Tools and Reporting, preferably Service Now. Good knowledge on running a Tech Bar. Skills: Strong organisational skills. Strong communication skills. Ability to persuade and influence both directly and indirectly. Ability to manage people and other resources effectively. Ability to organize work to meet deadlines. Ability to work within defined procedures as recommended by functional teams. Commercial judgement. Experience: Recognised qualification in ITIL. Experience in developing a service desk team and mentoring. Experience of delivering excellent customer satisfaction. Capable and willing to work towards achieving a collaborative service desk and team. Experience working in a corporate or consulting environment. Benefits: 28 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays.
