892GRE Senior Setting Out Engineer Sizewell C, Suffolk Long term, Full time £250 - £350 per day Dependent on pay route (PAYE or Umbrella – this role is inside IR35) Job Title: Setting Out Engineer Description & Background: We are looking for an experienced Senior Setting Out Engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in delivering key projects for Sizewell C. The Senior Setting Out Engineer will support activities in the field relating to the design checks, and contractors setting out on site, ensuring Contractors build in accordance with design drawings. Responsibilities: Provide accurate and precise setting out points, ensuring that the structure or infrastructure being built aligns with the project plans and specifications. Focus on foundations, setting out concrete structures, and monitoring working activities to align with drawings and specifications. Use surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS, and laser levels to establish accurate points, lines, and levels on-site. Interpret and analyze construction drawings, plans, and specifications to ensure accurate setting out of construction elements. Monitor and inspect the quality of work, ensuring it meets project requirements and nuclear standards. Identify any discrepancies or deviations from plans and work closely with the project team to resolve them. Ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with safety regulations and quality standards. Maintain detailed records of all setting out activities, measurements, and quality checks. Prepare progress reports and provide feedback to senior engineers and Project Managers. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Land Surveying, or related field advantageous. 4+ years of experience in setting out engineering or a similar role in the construction industry. Strong knowledge of surveying equipment (e.g., Trimble is a must, total stations, GPS, laser levels) and software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D). Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, and design documentation. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
