HSEQ Manager - Overview

We are working with the UK's primary developer and operator of Clean Heat Networks who are looking for a HSEQ Manager to join the team, reporting directly to the CEO. The company has been established since 2012 and has quickly grown to be one of the most prominent Heat Decarbonisation companies in the UK, undertaking unique, complex and pioneering projects nationwide. This role is the first of its kind within the business where you will help to establish and implement many of the company's policies and procedures. This is a remote-based role where your time will be split between home, the office, and sites as required, but you will have flexibility to manage your own diary.

As SHEQ Manager, your primary responsibilities will be establishing and managing policies, procedures, and practices related to safety, health, environment, and quality within the organisation. Although this role is the first of its kind within the business, you won't be starting from scratch. They have also operated stringent practices towards H&S, environmental impacts, and quality standards, using various consultancies over the years who have helped them to develop best practices. However, as you will be reporting directly to the CEO, you will have direct sign-off to implement and establish whatever you deem necessary and important to business operations moving forward. There won't be any red tape to cut through; you will have the reins, and they want someone who can take the lead on this.

The SHEQ Manager will lead cross-departmental collaboration to identify risks, implement preventive measures, conduct audits, develop training programmes, and ensure continuous improvement in Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality standards. The company is currently using an external consultancy to implement/maintain their ISO accreditation. You won't have to take the lead on this, but your knowledge will be invaluable in helping work alongside the consultancy to implement this. As the Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality lead, you will then maintain compliance to, and manage audits associated with, ISO9001, 14001, and 45001 certification, as well as PQQ and 3rd party award bodies.

HSEQ Manager - Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Quality Management, Engineering, or a related field. Professional certifications in SHEQ management (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, ISO Lead Auditor certifications) preferred. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a similar SHEQ management role, preferably within a construction, M&E, or industrial environment. Strong knowledge of safety, health, environmental, and quality standards, legislation, and best practices. Proven experience in incident investigation, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance.
