We are looking for a highly motivated, responsive and proactive individual with significant experience to lead a dedicated nursing team. Outpatients is a team who take pride in delivering person-centred care with compassion and commitment to meet the needs of our people. We are looking for a senior nurse to lead inclusively, develop the team, champion Right Care Behaviours and values and influence service development and improvements in Outpatients. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, act as a role model and support the team in delivering and promoting high standards of patient care. They will also act as a resource providing information and work closely with other professionals of the wider multidisciplinary team, having a keen interest in monitoring and maintaining acceptable standards of care. Main Duties of the Job

The post holder will be responsible for leading the nursing team on a day-to-day basis, coordinating the delivery of holistic patient care within the clinical environment. Through clinical leadership, adherence to the Trust Right Care values, and the utilisation of effective management skills, the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse will ensure the department team is informed, trained and developed to enable the highest standards of evidence-based and compassionate care to be delivered to our patients, their carers and families. They will support a collaborative, open and trusting communication style to all groups that the Unit communicates or interacts with, from staff to visiting teams and the individuals we care for. To actively participate in the development of the department using innovation, challenge, and evidence-based practice/strategies to support forward growth, progression and value-based care. The post holder must understand the core concepts of safe and effective patient flow through the Department, using their skills to promote and support the multidisciplinary team. About Us

Experience

Experience at Band 6 in a clinical environment. Demonstrates knowledge of how an OPD runs - staffing models, patient pathways, KPIs. Evidence of continued professional development relevant to speciality. Evidence of learning and development in line with NMC Revalidation requirements. Evidence of ward/departmental management demonstrating leadership and change management skills. Current experience of working in Outpatients. Audit experience. Experience in complaints management. Evidence of research-based practice. Qualifications

RN with current registration. Demonstrate professional post-registration development in clinically related subject. Evidence of competency in teaching and assessing. Recognised teaching/mentoring qualification. 1st level degree or evidence of working towards a degree. Skills

Provide evidence of promoting an environment of innovation and continuous improvement. Provide evidence of supervising implementation of teaching programmes for the multidisciplinary team, e.g. preceptorship education, mentorship. Evidence of involvement in service development. Ability to lead, influence and motivate others. Teaching/presentation skills. Writing and presenting business cases. Research and Audit experience. Recruitment & Retention experience.
