We are looking for a Senior Site Technician to join our team in Heathrow for Concrete, Asphalt, and Soil testing. We're looking for someone with a strong work ethic, leadership skills, capable in outdoor weather conditions and being a team player! You'll be outside away from stuffy offices working on a wide variety of sites and be leading from the front on some of our major projects, carrying out on-site testing, sampling activities, and assisting in our buddying up program. There will be some early starts with traveling, you will be asked to stay away or work night shifts. But this will give you access to the more high-level works that will increase your skills base/knowledge (We, of course, pay allowances for this too.) Experience / Skills: Educated to GCSE level or above, specifically in numeracy and literacy. IT literate. Full UK driving license. The role will also require accurate and consistent record keeping. Minimum of 3 years experience in construction UKAS testing. Understands demands of 17025 accredited laboratory. Technical understanding of construction testing overseen within role. Working hours: 42.5 hours per week (longer days to be expected with travel). Working Monday - Friday (night work when necessary with options for weekend work when available). Responsible to:

The throughput of site tests in a timely, efficient manner. Objectives: To produce test results in accordance with documented procedures, standards, and specifications. To ensure that the testing is maintained in compliance with UKAS and Company requirements. To supervise and assist in the training, motivation, and deployment of staff. To ensure your working area is a safe, clean, and tidy environment in which to work. Duties: To work in a safe manner that is in accordance with the Company Health & Safety Policy. To carry out allocated work as directed by the Operation Supervisors and/or Operations Manager in accordance with documented in-house procedures, in an expeditious manner. To integrate into the team and maintain a strong harmony and morale throughout the team. To ensure the control of incoming and stored test specimens. To liaise with the Operation Supervisors and Operations Manager as appropriate, in the day-to-day running of the Operations at Heathrow. To assist in the maintenance of records relating to the Management System. To ensure that subordinate staff are adequately trained and authorized in the duties they perform and carry out training as required via the buddying up system. Main Tasks: To maintain a clean and tidy work environment and equipment at all times. To carry out any other relevant tasks as directed by senior staff. The Senior Technician shall assume the responsibilities of other Senior Technician(s) in their absence. To test materials and maintain a working knowledge of sampling and test procedures.
