The opportunity Unity is looking for a Senior Software Developer to be part of Code Quality's (CQ) Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) Compliance Team. We partner with developers and leaders to drive strategy and implementation around the use, contribution, and adoption of open source software. If you are someone with a keen interest in optimizing processes, unblocking developers, and developing systems that audit for compliance, we would love to hear from you! In this role, you will be making a key contribution by ensuring compliance of released versions of Unity! CQ is a mixture of skilled specialists, across a variety of focussed teams, with a holistic knowledge of our codebase and the engineering knowledge to assist with problems that span the entire product. This is a full time position, based in our Montreal, Canada or Brighton, UK office. What you'll be doing Ensuring Unity’s use of Open Source Software is accurately recorded and aligns with license requirements Producing reports for customers requiring information on Unity’s Open Source and third party code use Collaborating and connecting with Legal, Security, development teams and management to ensure that regulatory processes and activities are aligned and potential issues are resolved early Collaborate with teams across Unity R&D to promote best practices in open source software and licensing What we're looking for Extensive experience of enterprise systems and regulatory compliance of these systems, including comprehension of various open source licensing requirements Strong track record of engaging with open source projects as an user and / or contributor Ability to analyze build systems, capture data from multiple sources, and work with a high level of integrity and discretion Familiarity with open source license management tools like Black Duck Proven ability to work in a distributed, collaborative development environment with large codebases You might also have Knowledge of software (source and binary) scanning tools Familiarity with open source licenses and their terms Ability to prioritize multiple concurrent tasks Additional information Relocation support is not available for this position.
