The Opportunity As a Senior Software Engineer at Bright, you will be a key technical leader in the BrightPay team, shaping the future of our flagship payroll products. You will design and deliver high-quality, scalable solutions using C# on both the backend and frontend with Blazor, leveraging a modern toolchain that includes Azure services and Kubernetes to build and host what you produce. You'll have the chance to mentor and inspire others, while contributing to meaningful projects that have a direct impact on our customers and the industry. You'll work with a dynamic, cross-functional team that values diverse perspectives and fosters innovation. Key Responsibilities Lead the design, development and maintain robust web-based applications and services. Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to transform ideas into impactful technical solutions. Mentor and support junior engineers, creating opportunities for their growth and development. Drive continuous improvement in engineering practices, code quality, and testing. Stay updated on the latest technologies, trends and best practice, bringing new ideas to the team. Take ownership of complex technical challenges, ensuring quick resolution and quality outcomes. Optimise CI/CD pipelines for seamless and efficient deployment. Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment that values every voice. What we're looking for We're excited to meet candidates who bring technical excellence and a collaborative spirit to our team. Here's what you'll bring: Proven experience building and maintaining web-based applications with C# .NET. Strong understanding of cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP. Experience with SQL databases and web front-end technologies (Blazor or Razor is a plus). A passion for mentoring and helping others succeed. Commitment to personal and professional growth. Ability to thrive in an agile environment and bring fresh ideas to the table. Experience promoting best practices in engineering, fostering collaboration, and driving impactful change. Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools. Proficient in writing unit tests, with test-driven development experience as an advantage.
