Team : Web Development. Location : Remote first; with fortnightly to monthly face-to-face in Gloucester. As one of the largest insurance groups in the world and the fifth largest employee-owned business in the UK, we manage premiums on behalf of millions of clients across a wide range of product offerings and our development team work on solutions that innovate and put the users’ needs at the forefront. Responsibilities: Join one of our agile teams as a Senior Software Engineer. Develop front-end applications using Microsoft Azure, Blazor, and C#. Participate in regular agile sessions and deliver our roadmap. Influence and encourage best practices in software development. Coach and mentor less experienced colleagues. Drive standards and quality while maximizing team throughput. Communicate effectively and lead architectural and technical designs. Work with product owners to refine, design, and architect solutions. Spot and remediate risks in the SDLC. Generate documentation such as acceptance criteria and onboarding guides. About you: Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, C#, and Blazor. Detail-oriented with a user-first focus. Defensive mindset when consuming APIs and sanitizing user inputs. Experience with Test-driven Development and commitment to high-quality code. Understanding of security and experience with Azure cloud technologies. Strong communicator and facilitator. Experience coaching and mentoring colleagues. Familiarity with architectural decision records. Strong documentation skills.
